Programs at NJIO
Prelude
Musicians in Prelude play at a beginning level, have a basic understanding of notes and rhythms and are ready to begin playing in an ensemble.
No previous ensemble experience is required. The repertoire includes arrangements of short classical pieces and fiddle tunes. Prelude is also great for people who are returning back to playing.
Intermezzo
Musicians in intermezzo play at an advanced beginner and intermediate level. The repertoire includes arrangements of classical pieces.
With an emphasis on musical growth, ensemble playing, and performance, Intermezzo provides a welcoming environment for musicians looking to take the next step in their musical journey.
Symphony
Musicians in symphony play at an intermediate to advanced level. The repertoire includes original full versions of symphonic works and concertos.
This ensemble offers a rewarding experience for musicians seeking to perform challenging repertoire while continuing to refine their artistry and ensemble skills.
Outreach
Outreach Orchestra brings music to audiences who may not be able to attend traditional concerts. The ensemble performs approximately once a month at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, specialized schools, libraries, and other community venues.
These performances create meaningful connections through music while bringing joy, comfort, and inspiration to audiences of all ages.
