The New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra will hold its fourth Young Artists Concerto Competition on September 8, 2011 at the Wharton Music Center in Berkeley Heights. This event is open to all New Jersey students in grades 7 through 12. Musicians are required to play one movement of a Baroque or Classical concerto by memory. Two winners will be chosen to play their winning concertos with the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra in separate performances during the upcoming year:

2010 Winners

First Place – Cellist Sophia Bacelar

Second Place – Violinist Alex Wang

Ms. Bacelar will perform at the NJIO Winter Concert at Madison Junior School in Madison on February 13, 2011.

Mr. Wang will perform with NJIO at the Young People's Concert at the Madison Junior School Madison on November 21, 2010.

A panel of judges evaluated all the participants on September 13, 2010. This competition was sponsored in part by K&S Music of Berkeley Heights, NJ.
